This is a 1966 Yamaha SG-2 in Coral Red (or Screaming Red if you're a Link Wray fan). It's a beautiful color that contrasts perfectly with the aging pickguard and reminds me of the red classic cars of the era. Previously owned vintage 1971 / 1972 Yamaha FG-180 acoustic guitar. Its made in Taiwan and has the red label, dating this to 1971 / 1972. The serial numbers are 20726156 and ?017051?. It does show its wear from 50+ years of playing music with lots of surface marks throughout. There is a small crack on the side near the edge. On the bottom there is a deeper scratch in the frame but this isnt a crack. Comes with a Roadrunner hard shell case. Please see all pics.

The guitar did at one point have a pick guard, when I bought it it had clearly had some luthier work done to it already and had the pick guard screw holes filled very well. 1974 SG45 in very used condition . the pickups have been changed, there were holes in the top (by the controls) which have been filled in, and the head had a twist split at some point which has been glued. Beautiful and historic 1967-1972 made in Japan Yamaha hollowbody electric guitar. Top of the range SA-50 model (others were SA-30 and SA-20). Upmarket fretboard and headstock inlays. Sounds great and has low action. NEEDS A SERVICE AS NECK PICKUP HAS LOST CONTACT. Currently only the bridge pickup is working. Seems to just be a loose wire. No major damage or severe fret-wear.
Overall very pretty, with the cosmetic flaws of a relic. Missing vibrato bar.... more

A vintage stratocaster from Yamaha Japan built in 1980-81 that presents beautifully with a natural ash body and finish. According to the catalogs is a 54' type reissue with a rosewood (not the usual maple) fretboard. Really well made, built to last a lifetime and in very good condition.
