1961 Watkins Rapier 33 electric guitar.
Serial#2935 so a very early production version, probably 1961, English built ( later versions were built in Italy and had a 6 digit serial number). As far as I can make out it is totally original in everyway. The photos tell the story better than words
The lacquer is chequed all over the body, which tells me that the paint work is original
The electrics are working and the action is good and this one plays well, fun and enjoyable. Tremolo works... more

Watkins Rapier 44 electric guitar made in England in roughly 1964. The guitar shows signs of its age but has no major damage. It has been worked on and set up by a professional luthier. It has had a full fret level and dress, the bridge posts repaired, a fully bespoke bone nut installed and the neck has been shimmed with a solid maple shim as shown in the pictures. In excellent condition, no extra marks, dings or scratches beyond Dale's relicing. I bought new in 2019, it's had very little use and never left my home
This is a lightweight '57 Strat weighing 7lbs 2oz / 3 2kg with a heavy relic black finish and matching 1 ply black pickguard. It has a roasted alder body and roasted maple neck with a classic 50s soft V profile. Beautiful set of handwound Josefina Campos '50s pickups

It is stamped 43 on the headstock so I believe it to be one of the earliest from the Watkins factory
