Just had a neck reset so string height is nice and low. New strings. Top braces were reglued in a few places by pro luthier, so she's good to go now. intonation is perfect. Original tailpiece, bridge, nut and tuners

Ahh, another Stella Sundale, this one in the rather uncommon olive / black combo with pink faux binding. Now, these ARE just cheap Harmony birch parlors with trapeze tailpieces, but, come on, guitars in ?50s car colors are ALWAYS cool. Fun little guitar. Quirky vintage tone. Pretty clean cosmetically with a few dings and some wear around the edges. Neck is relatively straight with some relief. Action creeps up towards the 12th fret. The upper registers are still playable (see video) but let's be honest- this thing is not gonna play like a $5k Collings. New Earthwood strings. Travel back in time with this Oscar Schmidt "Stella" tenor banjo. Built by Oscar Schmidt in New Jersey, this is a pre-Harmony Stella banjo. From its looks, I reasonably assume it was made the 1920s or 1930s
Though "Stella" is best known as a Harmony brand, it was originally an Oscar Schmidt brand. Harmony bought the Stella brand (as well as Sovereign) around 1938.

This is a set of reverse gear or post-below-gear type tuners for slotted headstocks from an old 1920s-30s Oahu-branded concert guitar. This particular Oahu was an Oscar Schmidt build, identical to a Stella of the same era but branded Oahu. This a top from a 1951 Harmony Stella H929 parlor guitar, OK overall condition, there are two small cracks that you will see in the photos if you look close, they are stemming from the edges of the top next to both neck and tail block areas, finish is cloudy in some streaky areas. Looks like someone perhaps spilled alcohol on the guitar and rubbed it around to wipe it off, just a guess. Made of solid birch.

This is a solid steel neck reinforcement bar from an early 60s era Harmony Stella 12 string neck. It measures 3 / 16" wide, 1 / 2" deep, 12-3 / 8" long. There is a bend in it that can be seen in the photos, this isn't damage, it was installed this way originally, forced into a straight slot in the neck. I don't know if this was done intentionally or not.

A pair of the patented Safe-T-String tuners from the 20s-30s. These were used on Oahu branded guitars, maybe some other brands as well. Oscar Schmidt was apparently the manufacturer of the tuners, though they look like Waverlys, but according to info in this blog post (https: / / www snathanieladams com / 2020 / 02 / saf-t-string-tuners html) Oscar Schmidt was the sole licensee to manufacture these as of 1937
