My dad was a tinkerer and upgraded the pickups. He played in a band back in the 90's, and made this his own a little bit. As you can see in the pictures, we have most of the original parts if want to go back to using the string guard and bridge / saddle. We will include the original pickups, but they have some wear that would need repairing. We had a few people test it out and they have really loved playing it. This bass has been played! Lots of wear and tear but it feels great in the hand - everything has smoothed out and it instantly feels comfortable
At some point in its life some thug has put heavy string on so there is bridge lift. I put it back on D'Addario Half Rounds as they have a nice low tension and it has not bothered me

This bass plays and sounds like what it is, an icon of the bass world! It is the best I have ever played with its stereo output to really scope your tone and that classic Ricky sound that is so distinctive. It is in very condition for a bass of this age with acceptable wear throughout. There is a an area of missing lacquer that points to this being a well used but loved instrument
