Harmony Monterey Mandolin. Believed to be from the 1960's. In absolutely amazing condition and wonderful tone. Played very little with virtually no signs of wear. Just a few marks on the pickguard. Neck joint looks solid and untouched. Granddaughter said she wanted to play the mandolin and I have always preferred vintage instruments. Harmony Guitar and Gruhn Guitar tells me they didn't make a H996 model but have both verified by the serial numbers that it was made by Harmony in 1945 and is in fact a H996 model and the only one they know of that exists. Harmony has no records of ever building this model but they did in fact build it
