Very nice 1958 Fender Deluxe 8, 8 string lap steel guitar. Guitar is in good condition for a 65 year old instrument, has many scratches and knicks, checks as shown in the photos. Original finish and chrome are in good condition with minimal tarnish for its age. Plays well, sounds excellent like you would expect an old Fender to sound. This is a 1958 5F8 Tweed Twin chassis. Serial #A00053
Obviously, its pretty rough, but it works, and it screams.
When I got it (chassis only), it had been neglected for years and was a mess. It needed a full cap job, new 3 prong cable, fuse holder, a few of the pots replaced, 1 input jack, the rectifier socket, and little bit of wiring cleanup work.

This guitar is in great condition with very little wear. There are a few light scuffs and swirl marks on the body but clean overall, with the most notable wear being some scuffs on the pickguard. This guitar is in great condition with very little wear. There are a few light scuffs and swirl marks on the body but clean overall, with the most notable wear being some scratches on the pickguard. This vintage Hofner President archtop guitar is being sold for a friend whose husband owned it before he passed.
Crafted in 1958, it still rings nicely, especially with the Hofner compensator holding the ball end of the strings. Please look carefully at the pictures as the D string strip is slightly bent - but has little impact on tone.

Restored about 12 years ago in California. This Bass has had quiet a few changes including a professional re-finish to the body and a pro re-fret. This beautiful and rare guitar has had one owner from new and was bought in January of '59
Its the same model that was strummed by a young John Lennon
there are no breaks or cracks in the woodwork however as seen from the pictures the lacquer has cracked around the heel. there has never been a neck reset
unfortunately over the years two of the plastic tuning buttons perished and although the tuners are original the D and G tuning buttons are replacements
