This 1955 Epiphone Harry Volpe is from the end period of Epiphone as an independent company, shortly prior to the Gibson buyout. The Volpe model is an all maple laminate, hollow body, archtop, electric guitar with a 15 1 / 4 inch lower bout. The neck is mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard.

Very good condition 1955 Gibson LG-2 3 / 4 in Sunburst. All original including the finish. Some obvious play wear from use. A few repaired top and back cracks as pictured, but have all been cleated and are not moving. One small hole near the lower bout that was repaired as well. I've got a very nice clean 1955 Gibson Century Lap Steel in its original and rare blue finish. This finish is somewhere between a blue and green but it's listed as blue. These are tough to find in good shape and this is one is in excellent condition. It does have a few minor dings (see photos), but overall, it's in fantastic shape. In very good condition for a 69 year old guitar. Various wear and blemishes as you'd expect given its age. A surface scratch at the top of the neck but this is just on the surface coat and the guitar has been thoroughly checked over with UK blacklight and has certainly not had any breaks or repairs. Fantastic mid 50s D28, in good overall condition. Braz. R sewood back and sides, spruce top and ebony bridge.
Mah gany neck with an ebony fingerboard and dot inlays.
The action is a comfortable 2mm on the low E side and 1 75mm on the high E.
The frets are in good condition however do show some light wear.
