No, these are NOT Super Fours or D??Angelicos, but they are handsome and nice sounding instruments. This 1953 double neck 26" scale steel guitar was a Triple 8 . I wanted a double so I took the top neck off and changed it to a single 8 . I made new draw bolts and finished it as a double 8 string . The legs are original chrome and is a set of 3 . The body has age nicks . The front edge is not buffed because it was joined to the top neck . It's NOW TIME!! The sad day I have to let this go. The seriel number dates the guitar to 1953. It plays great, the neck is smooth and easy to navigate. The tuning pegs are excellent, but I would replace the pegs. I bought the guitar from a Blue grass Guitar shop in Asheville NC in 2011. It feels great to play it and it sounds like heaven. This guitar is in good condition with the pictured dings, scratches, and repaired crack near the pickguard being the most significant signs of wear. Early- to mid-1950s Kay K-22 jumbo flat top acoustic. Solid spruce top, with back and sides of laminated mahogany. Ladder braced. Bridge was totally mangled (brass bolts / nuts had started to pull up from excess tension) but replaced with an NOS Kay bridge from the same era. Slight and stable risen areas on the top behind the anchor bolts, but I contoured the new bridge over these for better fit. Very minor. I also enhanced the scarfed-up area of the top under the bridge for better glue hold. ... more

If this were a car it would be called a barn find. I purchased this piece 35 years ago but never got around to bringing it up to final quality. The parts are all here also the dust. This is a 1953 Hofner Senator archtop guitar
At some point in its life a previous owner added a cheap Chinese bridge pickup and some electronics. When I got the guitar I made the best of it by replacing the pickup with a Bare Knuckle Blue 90 P90 pickup. I also replaced the cheap nasty knobs with some vintage bakelite knobs from a pre-war radio, I replaced the tuners with Kluson Deluxe strip tuners, I and added a tune-o-matic floating bridge
