Plays well. Sounds great. Plenty of expected cosmetic wear expected with a 60-year-old instrument; rust and patina on metal surfaces, wear in the finish, dings and scuffs, some light fret wear in 1st position. It's missing a couple pickguard screws and the 5th string tuner ferrule. The truss cover screws are aftermarket. Early- to mid-1950s Kay K-22 jumbo flat top acoustic. Solid spruce top, with back and sides of laminated mahogany. Ladder braced. Bridge was totally mangled (brass bolts / nuts had started to pull up from excess tension) but replaced with an NOS Kay bridge from the same era. Slight and stable risen areas on the top behind the anchor bolts, but I contoured the new bridge over these for better fit. Very minor. Listed here is this very good Vintage 1930's Kay Kraft Arch Top 8 string Mandolin! It has a sunburst lacquered and stenciled top, and laminated mahogany body. Guitarra en buen estado general sin golpes ni rajas. Tacón pegado en buen estado. Le faltan las cuerdas y los topes para sujetarlas al puente. Le faltan cinco de los embellecedores de las clavijas. El puente empieza a estar un poco levantado pero muy poco. Tiene un acabado en la madera de los aros y la tapa trasera muy singular y bonito. Tiene algunas pequeñas marcas de uso. Nice condition, all original and working as it should. I would say the only downside is that the tremolo arm gets loose rather easily, but it??s not that bad. If I missed any negative detail apart from the one I??ve mentioned, remember: it is used, and it is a vintage low cost instrument, so beware if you never owned one of these before.
But yeah, nice condition, serviced, and playing great.

Really cool guitar that I bought to fix up myself but in reality I won??t get the time as I have so many things on , the guitar does make a sound so the pick ups work but the effects do not , I??ve had a Quick Look and can see a wire or two that has come unsoldered so it might well be an easy fix for someone but I honestly do not know so selling as a project, the frets are in good shape and it??s a lovely dark rosewood finger board , it??s also missing the plastic battery cover on the back... more

I bought this last year for a restoration project that never happened. The guitar will ship from Belfast disassembled but contains all the original parts bar the strings. The bass is lightweight and has a fast, slim neck. I'd recommend a nut replacement and a better bridge to really bring this puppy to life.... more

Kay KB-24 bass neck, maple. The truss rod is threaded so it's beyond me to adjust but you might have the tools / ability to deal with it. It has a pretty significant back bow hence the truss rod being a problem. Otherwise in reasonable shape. One of the tuning pegs is a little bent but it all tunes up and hold tune OK. Frets aren't looking too bad, need a clean up to remove some corrosion but otherwise not bad. Needs some work that I don't have the time to put in at the moment.... more

For sale is a rare set of 3 matching original vintage 1970s / 80s era electric guitar control speed knob, in a naturally aged gold finish with fluted edges for grip, for metric 18 spline split shafts
These were fitted to guitars such as the Kay rifle / Austin hatchet type travel guitars, as well as guitars from Antoria / Hondo / Hohner of the same period.
The gold ones are quite hard to find!

Kay KB-24 sunburst bass body. It's a PB style bass body. Year unknown. Fair few dings and scratches all shown. Will include the neck plate and ashtray bridge cover. There are additional screw holes where a modern PB style scratch plate was attached. These are covered by the original or vice versa
Scratchplate included with pickups. It's not currently soldered into the ground wire or attached though. There's a broken screw in where the pickups go that you can work around. Electrics all work ... more
