Up for auction: Original 60's JAPAN Hofner 500 / 1 style violin bass case
The case is in sturdy condition, but has some issues:
- lots of surface scratches (see pics)
- the lining is loose and needs regluing
- some blistering on top
- some binding is missing
- handle mount missing, and re-attached with wire (see pics)
Still Has:

No bad odors
No bad staining to interior

This Bass is an original German Hofner Violin Bass guitar, the same type as that used by a Mr Paul McCartney
We purchased it in 1970 when it was approx 6 years old. It has been stored in a custom built flight case in a dry bedroom for the past 50 years or so. It has been played at home only on rare occasions, but never gigged.
We brought it over to our Recording Studio in Cambridgeshire in 2022 to use on a track and decided to have a full pick-up rewind and pot ... more

A fantastic bass that plays well. Comes with case and old school tuner. Ernie ball white strap included also.
I had the scratch plate customised which is made with real corduroy! This can be replaced or removed if preferred. Complete with flat wound strings I put on it. Selling to fund another purchase. Will be securely packaged and posted if required.
