Very cool and extremely rare model from Hofner. Rare acoustic archtop with sharp cutaway. It plays easy and sounds very good! It's in excellent condition. Not mint, but very clean overall. Just the lightest traces of use but is a great example and is complete with hard case etc

Hofner President Florentine 66 guitar made in roughly 1966. The guitar shows normal signs of its age and is in great playing condition
It was worked on by a professional luthier about a year ago. It had a custom made bone nut made and fitted, the frets were finished and polished, the finish of the whole guitar was polished, the electrics were re-soldered and the guitar was setup with gauge 10 strings. All electrics are working and the action is very low, with a straight neck
The guitar has a trussrod which means that the neck is not a fork handle diameter. An original hard shell case is in the deal as well

1965 Hofner President in superb condition. Looks gorgeous, amazing build, plays amazingly well and is all original.
I had it up for sale at ATB guitars but it didn't sell so I took it back after a while, the description from their website is below.

Being a 68 years old Blonde it is in remarkably good condition. Serial No 3666, this is the rotary switch panel version which is quite rare .The only non-original part is the metal bridge which I assume was fitted with Bigsby. Comes with original ?hard?? case. This vintage Hofner President archtop guitar is being sold for a friend whose husband owned it before he passed.
Crafted in 1958, it still rings nicely, especially with the Hofner compensator holding the ball end of the strings. Please look carefully at the pictures as the D string strip is slightly bent - but has little impact on tone.

Very minor scratching and dings are highlighted on the pictures, otherwise a good, honest vintage guitar.

Working guitar, the electrics work fine, sounds incredible for slide guitar through the jack output with some reverb on. I used it for this in the studio primarily.
At some point someone has replaced the headstock (or so it looks like) - not certain of the year but I believe the body looks to be 1959
Perhaps a good guitar for a repairer, luthier, or a studio for that something different to use as is!
