This super rare and very early ?Sunburst?? Model 127 Club 50 it has a 13 inch wide, 2 inch thick, single cutaway hollow body, with a slightly arched top and a flat-back. One-piece natural spruce ?carved?? top with a one-piece maple back. The sides of the body are lightly flamed maple and triple-bound bound in black. Not a re-issue!! I purchased this guitar from a seller onReverb. He purchased a number of 1960??s Hofners Club 40 guitars in the late1970??s and had them ever since. Got the year 1962 on this one from the Hofnersite. It could possibly be a 1963 however I do not think they were continuedinto ?63. Fantastic bass here ! This was found in an estate last year . We had the whole thing gone over professionally. Neck reset, rewired, pickups are original and rewound. The finish was removed off the top a long time ago . as you see we did not touch that . Use as is or redo your choice. The back has great tiger grain once again someone started stripping it this is just the way we found it. Plug in and play . Also come in original case that is very beat up . This Hofner has travelled a long road! Please note picture 6, the close-up of the switch plate When I received this bass, there was an after-market, apparently home-made, instead of the original equipment standard Hofner plate. I was able to locate one, which I had installed on the bass as you see it.
