Here's a nice vintage 1966 Hofner 12 in above player condition. Sounds and plays nice. Truss rod has been replaced and operates smoothly. Three ferrules are missing where the tuning post comes up through the headstock. I'm Spring cleaning so I'll include them if I find them. Photos show the dings and scrapes with the law after 53 years on the planet. Original condition except for replaced truss rod, missing ferrules and an added strap button that has since broken off

This is in tremendous condition for a guitar from 1954. Plays and sounds great, and had a full refret last year by McIntyre Guitars in Edinburgh. Structurally sound, loads of minor dinks - there is a small hole drilled at the back of the headstock (pictured) - I can't figure out what it was for. Also evidence that there was a floating neck pickup fitted to the end of the neck at some point
All in all, this is a great guitar - looks, sounds and plays just like it should

4 / 4 Hofner 378 Flamenco serial 3633 Acoustic Guitar 1955 / 6 model This was the first model of this series made in late 1955 early 1956 and can be identified by the Hofner mark on the front is stamped in rather than been a waterslide sticker. (My Uncle bought this new in 1956 he said) He also said they used far better woods in the early models up until 1959

No fret wear, barely been played.

For 60 years of age it is in remarkable condition. There are some scratches, in fact quite a few all around the body. Cosmetic and with the nicely darkened laquer they give the instrnent this wonderfull patina. Around the side srew of the pick guard is a little touched up area and on the backside bottom edge where the ornamentel inlay ends is a tiny patch of dopped out laquer. This Hofner Congress guitar is a rare find for any musician. With its beautiful Brunette Burst finish and working original pickups, it's sure to impress.
1957 I think. Serial Number is 5516. The 3rd digit is smudged but looks like a 1 to me.
The body has a couple of marks but is very good for 67 years old. The neck is very nice but has a few dings. They didn't fit truss rods back then but the action is nice and easy. The fretboard and frets are worn and will need work, but that goes to ... more

Realy nice Hofner 1959 guitar made in Germany. Sounds and plays great. The guitar is all original except the wood bridge. I Have the original bridge which will be in the case. This vintage Hofner President archtop guitar is being sold for a friend whose husband owned it before he passed.
Crafted in 1958, it still rings nicely, especially with the Hofner compensator holding the ball end of the strings. Please look carefully at the pictures as the D string strip is slightly bent - but has little impact on tone.

Very minor scratching and dings are highlighted on the pictures, otherwise a good, honest vintage guitar.
