Silvertone Teisco Hofner-style Beatle bass guitar pickguard from the late 1960s. The sale includes the 3-ply (white / black / white) pickguard and the thumb rest with the bolts holding it to the pickguard. There's some gunk on the pickguard. This is a nice Hofner copy of the Beatle Bass Paul used. We believe it to be a Univox or Teisco 1960's. Electronics all work however the tone just has a little static noise when you turn it volume works great and so does the tone other than that drop of static while turning (probably a very good electronics cleaning is in order). - the neck was apparently re-set. It??s at a good angle and is nice and straight when strung up and tuned to pitch (these guitars have no truss rod)

This 1967 Hofner 500 / 1 violin bass is structurally sound and the electronics work perfectly. Overall the bass sounds amazing, better than most Hofner basses I've had. The pickups are loud and punchy. The truss rod, however, is maxed out and there is a bit of bow in the neck. The bass has been set up as good as possible and the 12th fret string height is only about 0 5mm above what a lot of people prefer. There are fixes for a maxed out truss rod but I'll leave that to the next owner. But, it ... more

Super cool Hofner electric guitar with built in fuzz and treble boost effects! The 459 series was introduced to capitalize on the popularity of Paul McCartney's violin shaped 500 / 1 bass. I found this instrument recently and have done some work to clean it up. It plays really well. I have been over the entire instrument and here are my comments
1. I dressed the fretwires and most of the fine lines on the wires are gone exception is the fretwire adjacent to the nut
2. The fretboard - including the fretmarkers, are in near perfect condition. Neck has a seam down the middle that your thumb can feel

It's an authentic hofner potentiometer. This is a 1968 Hofner 500 / 1 bass that has a mix of features from a 500 / 1 and a 5000 / 1 Deluxe. Per the appraisal from Gruhn Guitars (see last pic), they estimate this to be from a limited run of maybe 10 basses. The color and style of wood as well as the pickguard are consistent with a 5000 / 1 Deluxe but the rest is consistent with a 500 / 1 including the white binding. A 5000 / 1 Deluxe has tortoiseshell binding. The original hard shell case is included

In very good used condition for its nearly 60 years of age, the staples are intact and attached, just a few marks as to be expected. 36 pages, complete and full of information (and such low prices compared to some values now).

Amazing rare vintage Hofner 495 from 1959
I've had this guitar for ~ 8yrs, I played it regularly in the first year, and hardly at all since, it hasn't been played for at least 3 yrs. It's been sat in a hardcase without strings since (CASE NOT INCLUDED)

This Hofner Congress guitar is a rare find for any musician. With its beautiful Brunette Burst finish and working original pickups, it's sure to impress.
1957 I think. Serial Number is 5516. The 3rd digit is smudged but looks like a 1 to me.

This is a 1953 Hofner Senator archtop guitar
At some point in its life a previous owner added a cheap Chinese bridge pickup and some electronics. When I got the guitar I made the best of it by replacing the pickup with a Bare Knuckle Blue 90 P90 pickup. I also replaced the cheap nasty knobs with some vintage bakelite knobs from a pre-war radio, I replaced the tuners with Kluson Deluxe strip tuners, I and added a tune-o-matic floating bridge

This vintage Hofner President archtop guitar is being sold for a friend whose husband owned it before he passed.
Crafted in 1958, it still rings nicely, especially with the Hofner compensator holding the ball end of the strings. Please look carefully at the pictures as the D string strip is slightly bent - but has little impact on tone.

This is in tremendous condition for a guitar from 1954. Plays and sounds great, and had a full refret last year by McIntyre Guitars in Edinburgh. Structurally sound, loads of minor dinks - there is a small hole drilled at the back of the headstock (pictured) - I can't figure out what it was for. Also evidence that there was a floating neck pickup fitted to the end of the neck at some point
All in all, this is a great guitar - looks, sounds and plays just like it should
