Hagstrom guitars were made in Sweden throughout the 1960s and 1970s; their fast-playing low action necks gaining them considerable kudos amongst musicians. Mid sixties models such as the HII and HIII are great guitars, but being relatively common have remained affordable. Watch out for sticky switches though! The seventies guitars are quite desireable; the highly-prized Swede is often referred to as a 'Les Paul-killer', and these always sell well.
1960s Hagstrom guitars were also branded Kent (in the US) and Futurama (in the UK).
Models to look out for: early Standard and De Luxe with sparkle finishes (these models go for good money, but are perhaps best reserved for collectors), Viking, Impala, Swede guitar and bass,
H-8 eight string bass.
