Gretsch produced various musical instruments in New York, USA, from the early twentieth century, with guitars added to the line in the 1930s. It was most famous for it's hollow-body electric acoustics, being favoured by the rock and roll artists of the 1950s and the beat groups of the 1960s. In 1970, production was moved to Booneville, Arkansas.

Users include Chet Atkins, George Harrison, Bo Diddley, Steve Marriot and Peter Tork.

When one refinishes a Gretsch, these get wasted in the process. I bought these from Duke Kramer in the 90's. These are the plain black style with no "binding " .
