Vintage guitars for sale: Gibson Ripper

These fit the later Gibson bass tuners with the Gibson logo. Will not fit earlier ones
This is an original set of 4 Gibson nickel plated Bass tuner bushings. These were found on many (but not all) Gibson basses from the mid to late 70's to the early 80's. These have holes to fit 1 / 2-inch tuner shafts and are press-in, not threaded   Please do your own research since Gretsch used other types of tuner bushings as well

Original vintage 70's chrome plated Gibson Bass bridge in vintage condition. Original equipment for many Gibson basses of that era. There's scratches, wear and pitting in the chrome plate. There's rust on the screws but everything works. Studs are NOT included

This is a vintage Gibson Ripper Bass pickguard. Please see photos to confirm that this is the correct pickguard for your vintage bass. There is a crack that can be easily repaired. Also, two chips near screw holes. Overall, it is in good condition. I will pack it carefully before shipping.... more

1972 Gibson L6-S Bass Prototype (Ripper, Grabber) Singlecut Sunburst
 
This bass guitar is the prototype for the L6-S bass, a model that was never manufactured by Gibson. Although it is the prototype for an instrument that was not produced, it also seems to be a prototype of the Ripper and Grabber models introduced later that are constructed with the same materials (maple neck and body) and similar dimensions. The look of this one does foreshadow those later models

I bought this guitar around 1982. I played it in the high school marching band. It is a marvelous instrument that has always deserved a better player than myself. That being said, my only consolation in letting it go is that whoever owns it next plays the hell out it. They didn't call this model the Ripper for nothing and rock stars have long sought after this model built during this time. It sounds beautiful and it is painful for me to sell it. This one is clean and looks like it could be chrome instead of the usual nickel. It's really hard to tell. Scratches and wear, but Shiny!

+ strap that holds case open has a rip
+ deep purple interior, has some wear
