A beautiful example from the peak period of acoustic archtop production out of Kalamazoo. This is an early "Advanced" version of the L-5, which had just increased in size from a 16" lower bout to a 17" lower bout in the year before this guitar was built. Travel back in time with this classic old guitar. Made by Gibson at its old Kalamazoo, Michigan factory, it's a Gibson LC Century of Progress acoustic guitar.
The factory order number is ink-stamped on the inside neck heel. It's x92B. The B suffix indicates it's from 1936. The first digit is indecipherable. I looked up 1936 in Spann's Guide. 492B was a 1936 L-C. That is the only 1936 model to end in x92B.

Very good condition 1955 Gibson LG-2 3 / 4 in Sunburst. All original including the finish. Some obvious play wear from use. A few repaired top and back cracks as pictured, but have all been cleated and are not moving. One small hole near the lower bout that was repaired as well. Up for sale is an all orignal Gibson Made Kalamazoo vintage acoustic guitar
As you are probably aware this model is quiet soughtafter especially since tommy emmanuel praised the tone of this model - single line runs sound great .
As you can see from the photo the guitar does show signs of wear as you expect on a 100 year old guitar with lots of scuffs and scratches .

This is a beautiful guitar to play, the neck is straight with a lovely, low action. All original, in original case. Bridge and neck joints are solid. Two owners from new. There are a couple of patches where the pick guard material has degraded over time and corroded as shown in the pics. More pics available if requested. A truly remarkable example of this much sought after guitar.
