I am the second owner of this bass and have had it for 25 years. This bass is all original other than the bridge pick-up which was rewound to spec by Lindy Fralin in 1999. The finish is worn from the original case. Other than that, the finish has some light checking, which is normal for a 50 year old bass. Fret wear is light, and plays like a dream. Glossy walnut (poly, of course) finish on this late ?70s 4-bolt electric bass. The knobs, neck plate, and pickups are more modern (00s-20s) replacements (pickups are Fender USA ?70s Jazz style appropriate for this instrument). Body, neck, tuning machines, I assume, and pick guard are all original.

I bought a new American Fender Jazz bass in 1978 or 1979. I removed the pick guard and the bridge cover (ashtray) as soon as I got it home. The manual with serial number was removed along with the genuine Fender guitar strap. I carefully packed them away along with another genuine Fender guitar strap that I had saved from a Fender Telecaster bass that I bought new around 1970 if memory serves might have been another one in that time frame. Finish black lights 100% correctly with no touchup or overspray. There is hardly any fret wear. It was probably played with flat wounds most of its life. Action and playability are very good. I have given it a basic setup to my liking, but I am not a professional luthier

This is a rare Made in Japan Squier by Fender Jazz Bass. The serial number indicates that it was made between 1984 and 1987. It is finished in black paint, presumably with a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard (although I can't verify the wood species myself)

Considering its age, this 1975 American Fender Jazz Bass is in pretty amazing condition.
It isn't perfect as it has some slight damage to the finish on the right side of its body which is shown in the pictures but asides from that and some light scratches, the finish is almost perfect.
It also has some slight wear to the frets, mainly on the D string but nothing that compromises its playability or sound

I don??t know much about this bass, and can??t find any info on BJ guitars. What I do know if that it used to belong to the bass player from Manfred Mann??s Earth Band, as I bought it from his nephew. It was he who told me it was a genuine fender vintage pickup. Made in the legendary Fujigen factory , this lovely jazz dates from 1984-85. Stunning Ash body with maple and pearl inlayed neck.
Condition wise I??d say 9 out of 10. It??s basically mint, with only a couple of tiny marks (see a little mark under the A on the logo, that??s it!) and light oxidation of the chrome tuners. It really is in time warp condition!
