There's some minimal wear and oxidation on the chrome covers but no pitting. All the mounting screws turn freely with maybe a hint of surface rust on the screw threads. This 1969 Ampeg B-12XTC is in great condition. The grill cloth has been recently replaced with period-correct ampeg replacement. The speakers are newer Warehouse C 12-n (Jensen clone). All the tubes are new. The two prong plug was replaced with a grounded plug. Sounds and looks great. The only issue is that these amps are known to have a ticking sound when the tremolo is engaged (enabled with a footswitch) due to the funky circuit they used. Here's a good looking a recently serviced Ampeg SB-12 Portaflex Fliptop. I LOOOVE the fliptop amplifiers. I've really been enjoying putting this through its paces. An absolute studio staple since their inception over 60 years ago. The B-15's get most of the hype but their smaller cousin the SB-12 is equally capable of that classic bass tone. Here is when you don??t see every day. This powerful, 120 W monster has a ton of different features and options. On the back, it has a switch to run it in half power mode, shutting off two of the tubes, then it has a pentode / triode switch, which enables you to scale the power back even further, down to like 20 or 30 W



The tones it gets are pretty unique. I would say the clean channel is more ??American?? but not quite like Fender. The real spring reverb sounds good.... more

This amp came from an estate in NJ. We do estate clean out services and don??t know the full history of this item. I'm a drummer and not a guitarist, so I only did a partial test with a cheap guitar I have laying around. A great example of a mid / late 63 Ampeg B-15N. Certainly in well above average condition. These are generally much more worn from years of use and transport. Made here in Linden NJ around 1963. Some of the pots date to 62 some to 63. This is prior to chassis serial numbers so its not as easy to date exactly. The serial number is present on the cabinet but not traceable. It's an original Ampeg SVT 8x10 that has been modified to fit 2x18" speakers inside, alongside an RCF ESW1018 crossover. 1963 Ampeg Reverberocket in good used condition complete with footswitch. Very cool amp with reverb and tremolo 12 inch Jensen speaker. This one has a 240 / 110v step-down transformer on board screwed to the amplifier floor which is useful. Power valves have been converted to 6V6??s which is popular conversion as the originals are hard to come by. However the amp will come with its original set of valves if you prefer to convert it back

1964 Ampeg J12 Jet, great amp, very vintage and cool, loves pedals! Pro 240 v conversion, 6L6 conversion (see Aspen Pitmans tube amp book) and new Jensen speaker.
