This is a model 1 James Ashborn serial # guitar made before 1851 in Wolcottville CT. It is at least 173 years old and in near perfect condition with no splits, warping, bulging or repairs. There is a 3 / 4 inch unrepaired crack on the back (not at a joint) that is stable and does not affect the sound or the overall appearance of the guitar. I bought this guitar around 1982. I played it in the high school marching band. It is a marvelous instrument that has always deserved a better player than myself. It is all original, unmodified. I am listing lower than any others I can find currently on the market, only because it does have honest fret wear. It still plays fine imo however. This is an original 1916 C F. Martin Bowl Back Mandolin. It has all of it's original parts and is plays beautifully. Makers mark with location (Nazareth, Pennsylvania) is stamped on a chrome plate at the very top back.

The exterior of this case does have a few dings in it: two along the ridge of the top mold, a slight crack on the front side, and one of the metal knob feet is caved in a bit. There is also a slight gap between the top and bottom in the back side when closed. See pictures for details.
All that being said, they are all minor flaws and this case functions perfectly and still looks awesome!

This isn't a Marshall stack! I plugged my older Strat in this and didn't make the neighbors mad! It turns on and the principle features appear to work. I did not service this in any way, so if the pots need cleaning then you can take the back off! The tremelo is a low throb, which is what you want.
