Stunning example of a Pre-CBS Fender Duo-Sonic. Most of the wear looks as though it's from sitting in the case as it's not in the usual play wear areas. Sad as I am to see this go, I am lucky enough to have got hold of both a 59 and a 60 which I use more often than this one. It's a truly beautiful bass but has had some work. When I got it, it had a J pickup, an awful refinish and a fretless ebony board. I took it to Angela Arnott (of Guitar Angel) who did a stunning restoration including the nitro Sherwood green refin. Seriously great sounding 1966 Gibson J-50 in its original Natural finish. This example has clearly been well loved over its 52 year life. Neck angle is great with tons of life in the frets. I??ve been drooling over this since it came in - an original 1970 Marshall JMP Tremolo 50 in original red tolex, previously owned by German rock band Arktis. Never thought I??d part with this but needs must. Players grade ES330T, sounds and plays amazing and has been well used, intonation spot on and frets in good nick - assuming they??re not the originals. Has had a headstock break at some point but super stable and seems to be well repaired- you wouldn??t know unless you were looking for it. Sold to me as a 1959 but I believe it??s more likely to be a 1960, serial no sticker is long gone.... more
