I purchased this guitar several years ago . It was listed on eBay as a 1979 . The seller had replaced the pickguard and control plate . I do NOT have the original pick guard or control plate . When looking up the serial number , it turns out the guitar was made between 1977 and 1978. At least the neck was ?? so I??ve stated this guitar would be 1977-1979. This 1964 Epiphone Olympic solid body double pick up bat wing guitar is beautiful for being 60 years young. There are a couple of minor marks on it but nothing really noticeable. See pics. It went through a fret dressing and a bridge replaced back in 2005 ( the pot metal original bridge always cracked) but everything else is original and works. Here we have an early 70s Fender Musicmaster bass that has been professionally refinished in silver
It plays great and includes all of the original parts. The pickguard, volume pot and pickup have been replaced. The original pickup works great but I preferred the Seymour duncan that has replaced it. The volume pot unfortunately was accidentally broken and has a disconnected shaft. I purchased this guitar new in 1978. It is an arch back model which increases projection, believed to have a spruce top and mahogany back, sides and neck. A loud and clear dreadnought at home on stage or studio Built in the Westerly RI plant and I have heard that the quality suffered later when Guild was purchased by Fender and the plant moved to Corona I am retiring and downsizing my collection. Beautiful vintage fender 12 string. Has a very playable action with a rich jangly tone. It sounds Bright with a good balance of mids.
Neck and body both seem structurally sound and in good condition for its age. Frets seem original and in decent shape. Chipboard case is missing neck rest / panel cover insert.
